DO YOU HAVE A RECENT BACKUP?


This is a question I ask a lot and most people say "no I should figure out how to do that". A hard drive (the storage medium for your data) is a moving part with bearings that are subject to heat and wear and as such will stop working. A Hard drive will last anywhere from one minute to four years. In my experience most people become very motivated to get a back up system in place after they have lost everything.
Technology has finally made it easy, cheap and fast with USB drives. There is no longer any reason to procrastinate.
 
  
An 80 gig USB drive, about the size of a cigarette package (see picture below), will back up all documents, all pictures, music, email, accounting data and more. As the price of hardware continues to drop I can now offer this for only $189.00 installed and setup. This backup can be performed with one simple click of the mouse.
 
 
Because of the way this back up works you can take the drive to your friend or family's computer and share the pictures, music or work on the documents you have saved.
These prices include hardware and all setup costs and can be done in one day. There is some limit to the supply of these devices so first come first serve. The price does not include GST or PST.

Most people have become quite dependent on their computers and will put up with error messages and other problems rather than having them fixed. This is because they are afraid of losing documents; spread sheets, accounting data, email addresses, favorites, (bookmarks) settings and even their inboxes. If the computer can be made to function (and it usually can) I take the time to back everything up. I have several different methods that can be employed. Network, Parallel to parallel port, usb to usb, Zip drive and if all else fails I install an additional hard drive and back up to that. Then I restore it when the computer is fixed or upgraded. I also take snap shots of all the important settings and keep them on file so as to serve you better and faster the next time. If your PC has a network card or a USB port I will update windows critical updates and Service Pacs at no charge.
The upgrade or repair can be painless and quick.
